   San Gimignano rises on a hill (334m high) dominating the Elsa Valley with its towers. Its origins date back to the Hellenistic period (200-300 BC) when it was the seat of a small Etruscan  village. It was, however, only on the 10th century  that it began its life as a town in the taking its name from the Holy Bishop of Modena, St. Gimignano who is said to have saved the village from the barbarian hordes.

 It is just outside the wonderful Borgo of San Gimignano, famous for its towers,  that we find this beautiful Estate; located in a gentle hill, it is surrounded by its own land which makes it an oasis of tranquillity.
 The property is composed of a main farmhouse dating back to 1790 plus a small dependence , a cellar, a storage and a two storey barn.

 The main farmhouse, typically painted with the original terracotta colour, has a beautiful facade with three arches framing glazed windows.
 The central door , used as main entrance, opens just in front of the typical central staircase  leading to the first floor. On its right we find the spacious habitable kitchen with two windows; from here going down for five steps we find a large living-room made very bright  by a window and a glazed door which gives access to  outside. This room has then access to a  closet and  to a lavatory and wash hand basin.

 All the floors  are in beautiful old terracotta while the ceilings are with barrel vaults and cross vaults  made with exposed terracotta bricks.

 The old stone staircase leads, with its 14 steps, to the first floor where  a central corridor gives access to the six double bedrooms and the  five bath/ shower rooms as well as to a big attic.

 The small dependant apartment( 47 sqm), placed in front of the main farmhouse, but , at the same time, enjoying a good privacy , is composed of a living-room with one window ; on the left side wall two openings lead, respectively to the small kitchen  and to the bedroom with bathroom on suite.

 The swimming pool, situated on a privileged and panoramic position, only a few steps away from the above described buildings, measured 7 x 14 meters and has a maximum dept of 2 meters.

The fully equipped and perfectly working “Cantina”   measures 78 square meters while a very useful store room 50 square meters.

 The old stone hay barn , still unrestored, but ideal to create further living space, is set on two floors of 50 square meters each.
