The Abbey of San Fedele. The church, built at the end of the XII cent., was re-structured in the course of centuries, and is today in the shape of a Latin cross with a single aisle. Inside are some interesting paintings fom the XIII and XIV centuries and a lovely painted wooden cross from the Giotto school.

The Antica Farmacia. Instituted in 1534, it stands next to the monastic complex and still represents today an important sector of the working life of the Camaldolesi community. The small museum and the galenic laboratory, using natural herbs, are worth a visit and it is interesting to see the vast quantity of products which can be purchased.

Castello dei Conti Guidi. Built in the second half of the XIII cent. at the request of Conte Simone da Battifolle, many times re-structured, it represents one of the most noble examples of medieval architecture in Casentino. Of interest in the chapel of the castle is a cycle of frescoes of stories of the Virgin and St.John by Taddeo Gaddi (XIV cent).

The church began as an abbey in 1002 and was re-constructed during the following centuries, conserving the beautiful three- aisle crypt and cross vault.

Eremo di Camaldoli

The Hermitage of Camaldoli, at about a height of 1104 m. a.s.l. is entirely immersed in the monumental forest of the Park of the Casentinesi Forest. The church, re-constructed in the XVIII cent. in Baroque style, contains an altarpiece, “Madonna in trono con Bambinoe Santi” by Andrea Della Robbia (XV cent.). San Romualdo’s cell, the complex of the Hermitage and the Aula Capitolare with a valuable wooden ceiling are worth a visit.

The monastery was built at the beginning of the XVI cent. The church has been altered several times and today is in Baroque style. Inside there are some works by Giorgio Vasari “La Deposizione della Croce” “La Natività e Madonna in trono con bambino e Santi”( XVI cent)

It was built between the XVII and XVIII centuries in Baroque style with a circular plan and Renaissance portico on three sides. Inside there is a painting depicting a Madonna con Bambino by Pseudo Pier Francesco Fiorentino (XVI cent).

Pieve di Santa Maria. The building dates from the XI cent. and is situated a short distance from Poppi and from the Arno. Recent excavations have brought to light remains of a building from the Roman era.

The Propositura dei SS. Marco e Lorenzo. Via Mino da Poppi, 4. tel. 0575 529136. No access for the disabled. The church, re-constructed in the XVII cent. is on the left side of Piazza Amerighi. It contains a painting depicting the “Deposizione” by the local painter, Francesco Morandi called Il Poppi and “La Resurrezione di Lazzaro” by Jacopo Ligozzi (XVI cent).
