 Chitignano
It is a small mountain village on the way to Monte della Verna.
Once a spa resort because of its sulphurous water springs.
It was a feudal village of the Ubertini family.
Parts of the old Castle and Podesteria are still visible.
Because of its location as a border village a rather peculiar activity, tobacco and gunpowder smuggling, was developed. The evidence of the smuggling path can be traced in the crowded Walk taken along it every year.
